The exhibition “Saviors”, created together with the Russian Jewish Congress, is about the Russian Righteous Among the Nations. It is dedicated to those who saved others without sparing themselves, and to those who escaped the Holocaust thanks to someone else's existential choice.
The phenomenon of righteousness is presented to the audience in the form of an interactive architectural installation. Stories of salvation, gaining perspective, solidarity, intercultural dialogue are its main subjects.
In the center of the hall is a round shelter, bristling with scales of wooden tablets. On the plates, which the audience can hold in their hands, are the names of more than two hundred Russian Righteous. On the back are the names of those who were saved by them: those who turned to the Yad Vashem Memorial Complex to perpetuate the names of their Saviors. Inside the shelter are "hidden" the stories of the rescued Jews.
Russian Righteous Among the Nations are people of different social status and origin, they are moral authorities and bearers of conscience.
At the beginning of 2019, only five of them survived, they are scattered across Russia from Taganrog to Ulyanovsk.
Three of them were interviewed by the film crew of the project (Studio Vyuga) presented at the exhibition.
